Sunfire-Remote nominated for the “NETWORK SUSTAINABILITY AWARD 2021” Finals

Dresden, Germany (April 26, 2021)

Calling for the best off-grid power solutions, Deutsche Telekom has launched an international contest. In the context of the “Network Sustainability Award 2021”, the leading German provider of telecommunications is looking for an environmentally friendly and reliable energy technology. Compact power generator Sunfire-Remote is one of twelve products nominated for the final round out of 89 other applicants. The finals will take place on April 28.

Andreas Frömmel, Commercial Managing Director of Sunfire Fuel Cells, will give a pitch to the jury to illustrate that Sunfire-Remote meets the high demands of telecommunications providers. "Our power generator is the environmentally friendly alternative to conventional off-grid solutions. Technologies like diesel generators have proven helpful over decades. But they do not meet the requirements of a modern power supply anymore. In contrast, fuel cells offer a clean solution", he says. According to Andreas Frömmel, this is not the only reason to choose Sunfire-Remote: "Our fuel cell devices are particularly handy for telecommunications operators. Just once a year they need to be serviced and they work particularly efficient – so that the cost of procuring, transport and storing fuels are limited to a minimum."

The three winning companies will be announced at the end of May. As a reward, they will be supported by either Deutsche Telekom or one of its partners Microsoft, Orange, SK telecom or the Solar Impulse Foundation to demonstrate their solution in the field.
